for the Shoreline School Board Director District -Position #5. |
IdeasOne of my ideas is to make sure Basic Needs are met for all Students involved in the Shoreline School District.
Those Students, that have those needs met, are ready for the next level of support, and I have some Ideas for helping them get to that next level also. Those students, that are doing good already, can also get stuff to help them do great. |
LearnThere is a lot to learn for all of us.
How to Support our School District Administration with Policies that help accomplish the goals, needs, and wishes of the Shoreline School District. Since there is so much to know, almost 10,000 students, and a big number of staff, and over a dozen schools, all with needs, issues, and good stuff, how do we fix those things that need fixing, and maintain, or improve those things that need that also, I say, we do it as a team. |
RecommendationsI have a number of Recommendations to address a number of concerns about Equity, in the School District.
I think we should make sure all 1st level basics are covered for all students, and bring everyone up together. "A rising tide, floats all boats", but not if boats need repairs, have holes in them, or people don't even have boats to start with. Also, if they don't know how to swim, then they may be drowning, and we need to not only try and save them, but actually save them. All students should have access to proper nutrition, safe transportation, and needed school supplies. Also, a space place to sleep, live, learn, and grow. |
We learn, teach, grow, & play together. S.T.R.E.A.M.Science, Technology, Reading (& wRiting, Research), Environment (Engineering), Arts, Math (Computing)
As you may know, Washington State, has a Constitutional Requirement, and a primary responsibility to Amply Fund Basic Education, Article IX, Section 1. We have the ability to make sure this happens, we can fix, the deficiencies in the funding, I know how to do it, who can help, and am willing to help organize it, if elected. I am still willing to help if not elected, but I will not have the same resources, position, and status, to do things the way, I have been planning them out. |
Your very important to us. Your First.Proper Nutrition, Toxic Avoidance, and Safe Routes to School.
There is a lot that is needing to be addressed, about getting our School District out of the downward spiral of improper nutrition, toxic intake, and not having a Safe way for all students to get to school. (like no sidewalks). Many of our water systems, have fluoridation added to them, this is not a good, safe, process in my opinion, Fluoride found naturally occurring in water, is different from the acid added to many of our water supplies, the waste by-product, that would be considered hazardous waste, if it was going to be dealt with on it's own, is put into many of our water supplies, and causes a number of issues for our bodies, mothers, should not make baby formula with this water, many basic water filters, can not filter this out. Vaccines, the law has changed on some of the Vaccine, op-out options, for returning, and new, School Children, while I think Vaccination can be a good idea, I do not like the vaccine preservatives, that may contain Mercury, or Thimerosal. I also have a concern for Vaccines that give children or adults, the thing they are trying to prevent the patient from getting, or that may cause a form of Autism, found on the Spectrum. |
Results Best Practices.I do not see School Districts, Water Districts, Cities, or other Agencies, looking out, and figuring out, how to address these growing concerns for our youth, and their future leaders. As a School Board Director, I will encourage more engagement of those issues, and others. I just picked a few, to start with. In the 1970's, Leaded gasoline, was identified, as having a direct link to issues with childhood development, and learning abilities, now-a-days, we have a number of other facts to blame for that also. Smoking was said to be good for you, for a long time, before my time, but that was proven incorrect also. Thalidomide, for expecting mothers, with morning sickness, was a step in the wrong direction. We need to monitor these concerns, identify the toxins, and get them out of our daily routines.
